A visa is a form issued by a visa officer. This form is placed in your original passport to show that you have met the requirements for admission to Turkey. A visa may be for a single entry, multiple entry, or for transit purposes.
Single entry tourist visa is valid for one year and allows you to stay in Turkey, depending on your passport, up to 3 months and to enter the country only one time.
Multiple entry tourist visa is, depending on your passport, valid for up to five years and allows you to enter Turkey multiple times and you can stay one to three months each time you enter the country.
Transit visa is valid for 3 months and allows you to travel to another country via Turkey. If the connecting flight to another country is a short period of time (not requiring overnight stay) then no visa is required.
